Antique Seth Thomas "Regulator No. 2" Model Clock

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 2

Catalog Description:

Seth Thomas, "Regulator No. 2", C. 1913-1921. This is an unusual quartered oak veneer case. Some of the wood grain designs they disclosed by sawing the wood different ways, is astonishing. The case height of 36.5" helped me determine the age of this clock. Probably America's most poplar wall weight clock, the majority were made of oak and oak veneer. What has made it such a good seller other than the name Seth Thomas is the simple case style, good case work, the heavy brass accessories, and it is an excellent timekeeper. 8 day time, weight clock, has a movement with strong, well finished plates, held to the case by an iron bracket, with Graham dead beat escapement, wood rod, brass covered zinc ball, and has maintaining power. The new 12" dial pan is a repaint, and there is a good old label in the case. The case and brass have not been cleaned or refinished. Ly-Seth Thomas, pages 110-111.
