Seth Thomas & Sons, statue clock, No. 8000, ca 1876. One of the largest statue clocks at 27 inches high, 20 inches wide. All Seth Thomas & Sons clocks seem to have lost their original finish. To have been one of America's largest clock companies they sure dropped the ball in the paint department. This clock has been refinished in Syrian Bronze. The old finish was completely removed and redone properly.Round French movement, outside count wheel and bell. The earlier Seth Thomas & Sons clocks used French movements. 8 day movement has been serviced and is running. Strikes half hours on the bell. Porcelain dial has a hairline, beveled glass with chips. If you should want it replaced I will give you the name of the man that makes replacement beveled glasses. Ly-American, Volume 2, No.844.
