Catalog Description:
C.1921, Seth Thomas, CELTIC, brass cased, ships bell strike, 7 jewel escapement, mantel clock. Condition: the red brass case has been polished to a high sheen. The movement ticks and strikes, but could stand cleaning. The engraved and silvered dial has raised bronze numerals, and the fellow who imprinted the ST name must have had a hard week end, as it is slightly crooked. Seth Thomas was trying to compete with Chelsea in offering this model, and at $85 in 1921, it was especially expensive. For reference, see Ly's 3rd Edition of Seth Thomas Clocks, Volume 2, page 762, fig 2604. Height 9 inches
